_______We welcome Fair criticism_______
The director general of Book Department in the Guidance Ministry addressed the criticisms cast against strict regulations for publications and claimed that they are drawn from publishers' misunderstanding about the nature of the regulations in Iran.
Mohammad Ali Ramezani noted that all such misunderstandings are usually resolved very easily and that the Ministry welcomes fair criticisms and does not reject them.

"We do not discard criticisms. But it is believed that the Ministry acts very firmly when it comes to publication of books," he lamented.

"There are instances that parts of a book contain concepts against the printing regulations in which case we have to warn the publishers about the content."

Later in his interview with IBNA, Ramezani argued that there are no written laws banning attachment of the authors' portrait on the cover of their books. "If portraits are in line with our regulations, then they are printed."

Ramezani marked some examples of unjust criticisms against the ministry in the presidential campaign and demanded the critics to voice justifiable criticisms.
