Iran to publish Afghan school books

TEHRAN, June 5 (MNA) -- Head of Iran’s printing industry exporting union Reza Rezaii announced that Iran would be publishing textbooks for Afghanistan’s schools.
Several representatives from the union met with an Afghan publisher during a number of visits to Afghanistan and over 70 percent of the job is complete, Rezaii told MNA.

Book releases double last month

48 book titles released in Ordibehesht (the second solar month of the Persian calendar) which is two times the number for Farvardin (the first solar month of the Persian year).

Launching 2000 open libraries in Iran's mosques

The secretariat of the country's cultural and artistic clubs of the mosques announced the launching of 2000 open libraries in all the mosques over the country. "Saeed Arbab Soleimani" said: The cultural clubs of the mosques have increased from 2000 in year 2005, to 6000 in 2008. And by the end of this year we will have 9000 cultural clubs in the mosques all over the country.

Iran, France cooperation on expanding virtual libraries

The president's cultural advisor and Iran's national library's director announced his readiness to cooperate with the head of National Library of France for expanding virtual libraries in the region and through out the world.

We welcome Fair criticism

The director general of Book Department in the Guidance Ministry addressed the criticisms cast against strict regulations for publications and claimed that they are drawn from publishers' misunderstanding about the nature of the regulations in Iran.

Cultural activities should continue non-stop

In the provincial book fair in Khuzistan was launched on May 29 with the attendance of "Mohsen Parviz" the cultural secretariat of the ministry of culture and Islamic guidance, Seyyed Jafar Hajari the governor of Khuzistan, Ayatollah Shafiee and Ehsanollah Hojjati in Ahvaz.
